A local Scout group is hoping to increase its youth membership by engaging with the community and encouraging friends of members to join in.
The 1st Figtree Scout Group is looking to boost its current number of youth members, following the implementation of the Scouts Australia NSW 2016-2018 strategic plan. The plan aims to create a ‘positive and enabling culture’, with the Scouts Australia mission being ‘to contribute to the education of young people’.
Being involved in Scouting helps children in a number of ways, as noted by Bear Grylls, Chief Scout of the United Kingdom.
